the Georgia Boy Choir on Tour!

Dear Friend,
In Just a few weeks the 26 members of the Georgia Boy Choir Touring Choir and I will be hopping on a plane bound for London, England. After a few days in and around London, we will be heading to the “dreamy spires” of Oxford University where we are scheduled to be the Choir-In-Residence at Christ Church Cathedral performing daily Evensong services. From Oxford it is on to the incomparable Wells Cathedral in the southwest part of England where we will also be performing daily services as Choir-In-Residence.

In addition to these performance duties, the boys in the Choir will also get to take in some of the sights—including Westminster Abbey, Warwick Castle, Stonehenge, Cambridge, and Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-on-Avon. They’re even going to learn to play cricket and go punting on the Thames! I am particularly excited about our visit to the magnificent Ely Cathedral where we will be giving a concert.
It is a remarkable thing that our two-year-old Choir has been asked to serve in this capacity, but once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as these cost a considerable amount of money–$4,500.00 per person, in fact. The boys have been working for months to prepare the music they will be performing, but the Choir is in need of help in order to fund this tour.
